Over 400 children are waiting more than six months to access mental health services locally.
They are some of the 4,000 children nationally on camhs waiting lists at the end of last month.
Camhs provides assessment and treatment for young people aged under 18 who are experiencing mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety or dealing with an eating disorder.
Figures published by the Irish Independent show that overall, 680 are waiting in the west and north west, which includes Leitrim and Roscommon.
187 of those children are waiting more than six months.
Meanwhile. the HSE Dublin and Midlands region, which includes Longford and Westmeath, had 659 children waiting.

Clinicians are warning that early intervention is being lost.
