Over 350 people in the Shannonside region were caught not wearing seatbelts while driving last year. New figures show that just under 300 drivers in the Roscommon/Longford/Mayo Garda Division were caught not wearing seatbelts in 2024.
The Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division saw a much lower figure at just over 60 people. Leo Lieghio, Vice President of the Irish Road Victims Association, says serious action needs to be taken:
