Over 330 patients are waiting over 18 months for treatment at local hospitals.
The most recent report from the National Treatment Purchase Fund reveals just over 5,000 inpatients were on the waiting list on hospitals serving the Shannonside region as of the end of March.
A total of 5,189 are languishing on outpatient waiting lists at Sligo, Roscommon, Portiuncula and Mullingar hospitals.
As of the 26th of March, this number included 182 children.
Sligo University Hospital saw the highest number waiting with 3,356, followed by Roscommon Hospital where there were 820.
520 were recorded at Portiuncula and there was 493 at Mullingar Regional Hospital.
Overall, figures show there were 115,216 patients waiting nationally with 8,783 of those children.
