Over 3,000 driving test applications have been submitted to the RSA from motorists registered in the Shannonside Region so far this year. The figures come from new information from the CSO and show that application levels remain steady across the region.
Roscommon saw the highest number of applications over the five months to May with 3,071 driving test applications made in the county. That's closely followed by Longford where 1,145 applications were made by local motorists over the last five months. Leitrim has one of the lowest application rates in the country with just 755 driving tests applied for between January and May.
