Over 2,500 patients have been waiting over a year for their first outpatient consultation at Sligo University Hospital.
The most recent report from the National Treatment Purchase Fund reveals just over 2,700 inpatients were on the waiting list as of the end of August.
A total of 14,319 are languishing on outpatient waiting lists at the hospital.
As of the 28th of August, this number included 1,583 children.
The highest number of outpatients at Sligo University Hospital were waiting for a dermatology consultation, with over 1,260 adult patients on the list for over a year.
Meanwhile, over 2,700 have been waiting to have an inpatient or day-case procedure carried out, including 152 children.
36 patients were waiting over a year for general surgery procedures.
A total of 17,194 patients across the two departments have been on the waiting list at Sligo University Hospital.
