Over 2,000 people wait over 18 months for treatment at three local hospitals

Over 1,100 people have been waiting over 18 months for their first outpatient appointment in Sligo University Hospital.

And 768 have been languishing on the same waiting list for at least a year and a half in Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar.

A total of 224 have been waiting over a year at Roscommon University Hospital.

And Roscommon-Galway TD Martin Daly, from Fianna Fáil, says the new figures are very worrying.
