Over 150 people waiting for hospital beds locally today

Over 150 people are waiting for a bed at hospital in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region today.

Galway University Hospital has the second highest figure nationally at 48, with the third worst affected hospital being Sligo with 40 people currently waiting for admission.

23 are on trolleys at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, while 20 people are currently waiting for a bed in Cavan General Hospital.

11 are waiting on trolleys at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, while 6 people are without a bed at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.

Mullingar Hospital is currently dealing with four patients waiting in its ED.

474 people are waiting on hospital trolleys right across the country.
