Over 11,000 hospital appointments across the region were cancelled last year.
Figures provided in a parliamentary reply to Aontú revealed a total of 3,626 appointments were cancelled in Mullingar Hospital, followed by just over 3,500 cancellations in Sligo University Hospital.
Meanwhile, 2,528 people had their hospital appointments cancelled at Roscommon University Hospital, and 1,746 at Portiuncula.
It's claimed the main cause of these appointments being cancelled is as a result of overcrowding in emergency departments.
