Over 100 people waiting for beds at local hospitals

Over 100 people are waiting for a bed at local hospitals this morning.

University Hospital Galway has the highest level of overcrowding in the region with 62 people waiting on a trolley or chair.

A further 24 people are without a bed at Sligo hospital with 12 waiting in Portiuncula.

8 people are on a trolley at Mullingar Hospital this morning.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation trolley watch 501 people including 13 children are on trolleys at hospitals across the country today.
