Optimism following latest Lough Funshinagh meeting

A meeting at Leinster House on Wednesday saw elected members agree to raise the ongoing flooding in the area on the floors of both the Dáil and Seanad. 

It is hoped that a meeting of Oireachtas members and the Lough Funshinagh Flood Crisis Committee will lead with a desired outcome for those locally.

A planning application for a permanent pipeline was due to be submitted last year but was Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran confirmed it had been delayed.

Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice was one of those who engaged with members.

Speaking following the meeting, Deputy Fitzmaurice says while the process is slow, conditions must be met:
