Opposition's roll back on SSC not political - Martin Kenny

Sinn Fein's Justice spokesperson says dropping its outright opposition to the Special Criminal Court is not aimed at preparing for government.

Sligo Leitrim North Roscommon TD Martin Kenny who prepared the motion for the Ard Dheis says it has been a long time proponent of reform.

The party approved a system to allow for non jury courts in rare and exceptional occasions - following the advice of a judge.

Deputy Kenny maintains that the change has had little to do with positioning itself for a possible bid for government.
