Operation Twin Tracks underway locally

Local Gardai are currently taking part in Operation Twin Tracks.

This an initiative which aims to prevent and detect anti-social behaviour on board public transport rail services.

Officers are active on services on the Galway line which includes Ballinasloe and Sligo line which includes Boyle, Carrick on Shannon, Dromod, Longford and Edworthstown.

Among the objectives are to ensure public safety by addressing anti-social behaviour and preventing crime, bringing criminals to justice, through the detection and investigation of crime and improving rail safety.
