Longford County Council has agreed on the official name for a new sensory playground in Longford Town.
The new, state-of-the-art amenity has been named 'The Sunflower Park', while the former greyhound track at the Park Road site will now be known as 'Longford People's Park.'
Minister for Rural and Community Development Dara Calleary will visit and officially open the site on Thursday.

Works have been underway since Christmas to bring the playground to fruition, and it has been open to the public over the last number of weeks.
