70 convictions in district courts in the Shannonside region last year were for drugs offences. Roscommon District Court saw the biggest percentage increase last year, with the number of convictions doubling to 26.
Longford District Court saw a 24% increase to 31 convictions in 2025 whilst there was a 8% increase at Carrick on Shannon District Court. The data was provided to Fianna Fáil MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú:
