Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that it has no plans to bypass Dromod train station.
The news comes as Leitrim County Council wrote to the transport provider requesting it outline its plans for smaller stations on the Sligo to Dublin rail line.
In correspondence read out in today's meeting of the Carrick Municipal District, it emerged that no such proposals are afoot, however it remains to be seen when extra carriages will be added for the route.
