No injuries were reported after a cruiser caught fire near Jamestown in Leitrim last weekend. The Carrickcraft Linnsen vessel, which was three years old, encountered

No injuries were reported after a cruiser caught fire near Jamestown in Leitrim last weekend.

The Carrickcraft Linnsen vessel, which was three years old, encountered difficulties near Albert Lock at around 12pm on Sunday and four people were removed with the assistance of other boaters on the river.

Fire engines from Leitrim attended the scene but the boat was badly damaged and sunk in the canal.

It's understood efforts will be made later this week to remove it from the canal.
