No injuries have been reported after a massive fire in Carrick-on-Shannon, which has been extinguished.
The blaze was reported by a passerby at the boardwalk jetty, opposite the Landmark Hotel, at around 9.15pm tonight, with two boats on fire.
It's believed the blaze started on one boat and then spread to the other one.
Carrick-on-Shannon fire brigade spent hours battling the inferno but, by midnight, it was entirely extinguished.
All of those associated with the boats have been accounted for, and no injuries have been reported so far.
The boardwalk jetty has been sealed off by gardai and a forensic examination is to take place on Wednesday morning.
At this stage, it’s not known what caused the fire.
