New traffic safety scheme proposed for Castlerea

The plans would include the creation of two signal controlled junctions and controlled pedestrian crossings in the town.

Roscommon County Council is seeking Part 8 planning permission for a new traffic safety scheme in Castlerea. The plans would include the creation of two signal controlled junctions and controlled pedestrian crossings in the town. The signalised junctions are being proposed for the Main Street/Patrick Street Junction and the Main Street/R371 junction.

The application also includes the creation of two new crossings on Main Street and upgrades to existing crossings on the Main Street and Patrick Street. Also included in the proposed works are footpath improvements, road markings, street lighting, and site clearance works. Roscommon County Councillors will discuss the application at an upcoming meeting of the local authority.
