Almost one quarter of 6 year old's have a mobile phone. A survey to mark Safer Internet Day also found 45 per cent of 10 year old's are allowed to use their smartphone unsupervised in their bedrooms.
Over half of parents don't feel confident about teaching their kids how to stay safe online. Philip Arneill head of Education and Innovation at Cybersafekids says parents need to engage with their children around their online activities.
