New playground urgently needed in Newtowngore, says local councillor

A new playground is badly needed in a village near the Leitrim/Cavan border, according to a local councillor.

Fianna Fáil's Paddy O'Rourke has told Ballinamore Municipal District it's urgently required in Newtowngore.

Leitrim County Council says it can support a community group with developing a playground - but ruled out building one themselves.

Councillor O'Rourke says Newtowngore is a fast-growing village.
