A much-anticipated 50-bed nursing home facility in Athlone is now scheduled to welcome its first residents in June 2026 - pending completion of final snagging works.
Construction of the new community nursing unit at Clonbrusk - which will serve as a replacement for the existing St Vincent's Care Centre began in 2023.
Once handed over, the building will undergo registration with the HSE and HIQA before residents are moved in and known as Heartlands Care Centre.
