A number of stations locally have seen a drop in numbers during that time.

There were 20 less Gardaí stationed in the Shannonside region last December compared to 2016. A number of stations locally have seen a drop in numbers during that time. 364 frontline Gardaí were based in stations across Longford, south Leitrim and Roscommon in 2016. This has fallen to 334 in December 2025. Longford's figure has gone from 134 to 124, with no officers stationed in either Keenagh or Drumlish.

Numbers did increase in Longford town, however, going from 71 to 84. South Leitrim is down one on 2016, going from 69 to 68. Ballinamore's number dropped from 7 to 3 with Carrick-on-Shannon seeing a rise of seven to 56. While Roscommon has 144 Gardaí stationed, down from 167. Ballinlough and Elphin stations are both without Gardaí.
