Ireland's newest technological university formally opens today in the midlands and midwest.
Technological University of the Shannon will have over 14 thousand students across six campuses in Athlone, Limerick, Clonmel, Ennis and Thurles.
It's the third technological university to be set up in this country and will be officially launched at an opening ceremony at the Athlone Campus today.
