A proposal has been made for an off-street car park in Strokestown to resolve the dispute over a public realm project.
The €8 million plan will involve the loss of some car-parking, which has angered some locals.
A similar row in Ballaghaderreen ended when the council agreed to develop a new car park - and leave 15 spaces on The Square.
