New calls for reopening of Castlerea fire station after house gutted in blaze

The fire was put out by fire services from neighbouring towns - as Castlerea has been without a fire station since 2017.

There are new calls for Castlerea fire station to be reopened after a house was destroyed in the town last night. The home in Tarmon Manor was gutted in the blaze, which broke out at around 7.30. It was put out by fire services from neighbouring towns - as Castlerea has been without a fire station since 2017.

Local Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane is calling on Roscommon County Council to urgently reopen it:
