A local councillor has confirmed that planning permission for the extension of the astro turf at the Albert Reynolds Peace Park is approaching the final stages. The plans would see the upgrade and extension of the astro turf pitch at the Mall in Longford Town to full FAI competition guidelines.
The extension is set to use lands purchased by Longford County Council to the north of the Park and will also include additional car parking facilities. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Cllr Gerry Warnock expects construction works to start by the end of this year:
