The National Famine Way Commemorative Walk, which set off on Monday from Strokestown, will finish today at Dublin's Docklands.
The 165-kilometre walk, which traverses six counties, follows in the footsteps of the 1,490 tenants forced to leave Roscommon in 1847.
Taking part in the walk is Ambassador of Ireland to Canada Eamonn McKee, who said it was important to remember the perilous journey to North America.
Speaking to Shannonside News, he said the tenants' desperate journey of survival serves as an important lesson in modern Ireland:
