N55 closed at Ballykeeran following road traffic collision

The N55 is closed at Ballykeeran near Athlone this morning following a road traffic collision.

The collision  happened just before ten o' clock this morning.

It's understood that a car and a van were involved in the incident but no serious injuries have been reported.

Lengthy traffic delays are being reported in both directions and it's hoped the road can be re-opened shortly.
