The N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue bypass is set to be a game-changer for the West of Ireland.
That's according to Roscommon County Council Chief Executive Shane Tiernan.
The 34-kilometre stretch of road will bypass Frenchpark, Ballinagare, Tulsk and Strokestown.

Tiernan says some of the new road may be opened next year.
