Former Fianna Fáil TD Eugene Murphy has not ruled out running in the next General Election. He ran as an Independent two years ago after the party selected Martin Daly to run in Roscommon-Galway.
Murphy won just over 4,000 first preference votes last time out but ultimately lost on a seat. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, he says there's still a need for a TD in Roscommon:
Former Longford Cathaoirleach Gerry Warnock says he's also not ruling out another run. The Independent candidate was unsuccessful in the last general election. He says Longford candidates are at a disadvantage in the constituency:
