Motorists in the region urged not to make unnecessary journeys

Dangerous travelling conditions are being reported with many rural roads and footpaths resembling ice rinks while freezing fog is lingering across the day.

Motorists in the region are being urged to travel only if necessary during the sub zero weather.
Temperatures as low as minus 5 degrees saw the majority of schools across the region closed today with the same expected tomorrow.
