Motorist in Sligo/Leitrim issued penalty points for speeding over the weekend

A novice driver was detected exceeding the speed limit by Gardaí in the Sligo-Leitrim division over the weekend. While conducting speed checks, the roads policing unit found a driver travelling at at 154 kph in a 100 zone. When stopped, the driver was found to be a Novice driver.

They have been issued with 3 penalty points and a €160 fine. Gardaí are reminding motorists the dangers of speeding on the country's roads.
