A motorist is due in court after failing a roadside drugs test in county Longford. Gardaí were conducting a checkpoint when a motorist turned away. They were stopped shortly afterwards on a nearby backroad. It was subsequently found the vehicle's NCT had been expired for five years.
The driver also failed a roadside oral fluid test for cannabis and was arrested at the scene. The car was subsequently seized and a court appearance is expected.
