People across the Shannonside region are being encouraged to 'get lost in a good book.'
Events are taking place in local libraries across the region today to celebrate Ireland Reads Day.
Mohill Library in Co. Leitrim will be hosting Carrigallen author Kevin McManus, who will be launching his new poetry collection from 11am.
The acclaimed author will be discussing the inspiration behind his work and encouraging one and all to pick up a book and embrace the benefits.
Kevin McManus explained why he believes 'Ireland Reads Day' is such a necessary initiative:
