There have been calls for a Garda Superintendent to be based in Longford town.
It follows reports this week that the current Garda chief is set to move to another division.
The Irish Independent reports that Superintendent Michael Dorrigan will move to Dundalk as early as next week.

Fianna Fáil Senator Joe Flaherty has urged the Justice Minister to ensure his successor is based in Longford.
