Tourism Minister Catherine Martin has officially turned the sod on a €1.2 million water sports facility at Acres Lake in Drumshanbo.
It's part of plans to turn the lake into a central hub for water activities.
The contractor will begin work on the new facilities in the next couple of weeks, and it's expected to be complete next summer.

Local councillor Brendan Barry says it will be a tourism boost to the area.
