The OPW Minister says funding is not an issue when it comes to a permanent solution to flooding at Lough Funshinagh. It comes as Minister Kevin Boxer Moran told Roscommon councillors yesterday that a planning application for a pipeline will be delayed until next year. It's due to concerns around taking water out of the former turlough and releasing it further downstream at Lough Ree.
Water levels at Lough Funshinagh are currently so low that temporary pumps - installed to protect local homes - have been switched off. Minister Moran says he's determined to deliver on the pipeline project:
