'Ming' calls for more debate on Council spending

According to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act, a controversial new architectural feature in Roscommon cost €1.4 million to complete.

A local MEP has questioned how local government works following the cost of public realm works in Roscommon town. According to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act, a controversial new architectural feature in the Square cost €1.4 million to complete. The timber and concrete covered space has received mixed reviews from the public since its unveiling on the new-look Square in the county town.

The entire Public Realm Enhancement project is expected to cost over €6 million from Government and local authority funding once finished. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan believes there needs to be more local debate going forward in relation to spending:
