Met Éireann is to submit a planning application to Roscommon County Council for a new weather radar at Cloonfad. The development is part of a five-year national project to expand Ireland's radar network from two to seven sites. The new radar will enhance rainfall monitoring and flood prediction, improving weather forecasting accuracy.
