Irish farming organisations are against the deal because of the effect it could have on the beef sector here.

A crucial vote on the controversial Mercusor trade deal is set to be delayed until the new year.

Irish farming organisations are against the deal because of the effect it could have on the beef sector here.

The EU-South American trade agreement was due to be voted on later this week.

But local Independent Ireland MEP Ciaran Mullooly says there was a change yesterday - after intervention by Italy and France:
