Mercosur deal set to take effect provisionally at the start of May

The EU say the Mercosur trade agreement will provisionally implemented on the 1st of May. 27,000 people protested against the deal in Athlone in January.

However, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed last month that the deal will be 'provisionally applied.' That's despite the deal being referred to the European Court of Justice.
