Five men have been remanded on bail after a court appearance today over violent public disorder in the centre of Longford Town last week.
The incident on New Street and Ballymahon Street took place at approximately 4pm and saw a number of vehicles damaged and weapons produced.
This morning, Longford Gardaí along with the Armed Response Unit attended a property in Edgeworthstown and arrested five men.
They ranged from one in his late teens, two in their 20s, one man in his 30s and another in his 40s.
They were all charged and are appeared in Longford District Court this afternoon.
They have been granted bail and will appear again on the 17th of June.
