McGregor 'wasting his time' looking for Leitrim council's backing for presidency - Stenson

An Independent councillor says Conor McGregor has no chance of getting a presidential nomination from Leitrim County Council.

Supporters of the UFC star have written to the local authority to ask for their backing.

They say he's willing to meet them later this month in Carrick-on-Shannon, when they hold their special meeting to decide if they'll nominate a candidate.

Candidates need four councils' endorsement to get on the ballot paper next month.

Eslin councillor Enda Stenson doesn't believe McGregor will be supported by Leitrim council on September 22nd.
