The opening of a new outpatient facility at Portiuncula University Hospital is a step in the right direction for maternity services there.

The new outpatient facility was officially opened yesterday at the Ballinasloe hospital.
It has been in operation since last month and includes nine modern clinical rooms and dedicated parking.
It also supports both consultant-led and midwife-led clinics aimed at improving access and comfort for patients.
Maternity services at the Ballinasloe hospital were downgraded last year with high-risk pregnancies moved to Galway University Hospital.
