Man suffers serious injuries following Strokestown assault

Gardaí are investigating after a man in his 40s suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries following an assault in Strokestown last night.

Gardaí say they are investigating the incident which occurred at around 11 o'clock on Elphin Street. A man, aged in his 40s, was brought by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing.
