The man who died in last night’s fatal road collision in Longford has been identified.
He has been named locally as 36-year-old Francis Kelly with an address in County Longford.
This marks the first road fatality in Ireland this year.
The crash occurred in Edgeworthstown at about 7 o'clock yesterday evening, when two cars and a van collided on the N4.
Mr Kelly, who was driving one of the cars, was pronounced dead.
Another man, also in his 30s, was hospitalised but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage from the area, to contact them.
