A man arrested in connection with an alleged stabbing in Longford has been charged.
A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries during the incident which happened on Wednesday, January 28th in the Chapel Lane area.
The victim was taken to Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Dublin, for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Another man, in his 20s was arrested on Monday, February 2nd and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a station in the Garda North Western Region.
Gardai have confirmed to Shannonside FM that the man has since been charged, and is due to appear before a sitting Longford District Court today.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is being urged to contact Longford Garda Station.
