A man has been charged with the theft of cash from a shop in Athlone.
The incident occurred shortly after 3pm on Saturday when the man entered the Centra store on Church Street in the town and took money from the till.
Gardai arrested a man in his 30's a short time later and he appeared before Mullingar District Court.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill Court in the coming weeks.
