A man in his 40's is being detained at Athlone Garda station following an assault on a woman in Monksland yesterday evening.
It's understood emergency services were called to a house in the area after the man's partner was stabbed.
The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics and her injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
