A man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Annie McCarrick in 1993.
The 26-year-old from New York was living in Dublin at the time of her disappearance.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 60s as part of this investigation and he is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin.
Investigating Gardaí are today starting a search operation at a home in Clondalkin.
Elements of that house and garden will be searched and subject of both technical and forensic examinations.
Gardaí say the current residents of this home are not connected in any way with Annie McCarrick or her disappearance.
They're appealing to anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant that they might believe it to be, to contact with the investigation team.
